If you experienced a declined transaction when using your new Aya Care card at a merchant, please go through the instructions below to understand the process of a successful card activation and PIN setup.
Within the Aya Care app/ website:
When you receive and activate your Aya Care card, you can manage your account using either the mobile app options: Play Store & Apple IOS or desktop web portal, or both. Both platforms offer the same easy access for creating or resetting your PIN whenever you need.
- Access Your Account: Simply log in to your account, and whether you're using the desktop or mobile app, navigate to the 'Settings' tab, card settings and change pin option
- Verify your changes: Select a 4-digit PIN of your choice, retype the same PIN, provide your Date of Birth, and then click on the '' Send verification token” button. The verification token will promptly be sent to your registered email. Once you've received the token, enter the details and click on the “Right arrow button”.
- PIN Reset Complete: You've successfully updated your PIN to a new 4-digit code of your choice, you're now ready to make the most of your Aya Care card – enjoy!
At Point of Sale (POS) terminal at the checkout counter:
- First Use: Insert your card's chip into the Point of Sale (POS) terminal when making a payment for the first time. This initial step will write the PIN to your card.
- Initial Rejection: Don't be alarmed if your transaction is initially rejected. This is part of the process. The system will decline the payment at first.
- Second Attempt: Try the payment again after the initial rejection. This time, your transaction should be approved, and your card will be activated for future use.
- Tap Function: Once you have successfully completed these steps, you can now make contactless payments by simply tapping your card on the POS terminal.
